Game Analysis:
HOUSTON — The Giants enter at 3-2-1, while the Texans are 2-4 after winning two straight. New York is trying to rebound from a 34-27 loss to New Orleans, while Houston is coming off a 34-31 victory over Jacksonville in London.
The biggest storyline for New York is quarterback. Jameis Winston struggled against the Saints, throwing two interceptions before J.J. McCarthy replaced him and nearly sparked a comeback. Coach John Harbaugh has not yet announced which quarterback will start against Houston.
Houston has gotten strong play from C.J. Stroud despite its record. Stroud has thrown for 1,714 yards with nine touchdowns and only one interception, and the Texans have scored 60 points during their current two-game winning streak.
The Texans are also getting Tank Dell back for his first game in nearly two years. Dell has completed his recovery from the major knee injury he suffered in December 2024, giving Stroud another explosive receiving option alongside Houston’s existing weapons.
The central matchup is New York’s offensive line against Houston’s pass rush. The Texans have been one of the NFL’s best teams at generating sacks, while Giants tackle Jermaine Eluemunor is dealing with a calf injury. If Houston can consistently pressure whichever quarterback New York starts, the Giants could have difficulty keeping pace with Stroud and the Texans’ offense.
