Match Analysis:

Purdue is the top seed in the East, while Fairleigh Dickinson, let me just check my notes to make sure I spelled that correctly, is the 16th seed. I don’t really know what my job is here other than to continuously state the obvious. The Boilermakers are going to win this game by a million. Take their moneyline, their spread, whatever you want; just make sure you stay responsible and have fun. This game is an open-and-shut case; I don’t want anyone overthinking it.

Fairleigh Dickinson is a, well, let’s say, fun team to watch. They’ve been scoring almost 78 points per game while giving up about 75 points per game. Both are which are very high in the NCAA men’s basketball world. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, though, they couldn’t even win the Northeast Conference Tournament, so I don’t know what that says about their chances of winning a single game in March Madness, especially against a team that won the Big Ten. It’s not all Cinderella story magic, though. Their guard Demetre Roberts is an elite talent putting up a per-game stat line of 16.7 points and 4.3 assists, leading the team in both categories. Not to mention that this offense, as I said before, regardless of competition, is one of the more high-scoring ones in NCAA basketball. That’s gotta at least count for something.

The Purdue Boilermakers are a different level of the basketball team. Zach Edey is what we call in the hooping industry “the same animal, but a different beast”. Against elite-level competition, such as the likes of Gonzaga, Marquette, and Duke, this man has averaged insane numbers. Per game, Edey scores 22.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks. I’m sorry, but Purdue has the easiest offensive game plan of all time against the Knights. Simply pass the ball down low to Edey every single possession and watch him score every single possession. But I guess that’s how you get a number one seed in March Madness. Just have a top-three scorer in the nation who is also a top-six rebounder in the nation. It’s as easy as that.

Alright, folks this equation is a simple one. The Boilermakers have Zach Edey, the Knights do not, which equals Purdue winning this game.
