TUSCALOOSA — No. 13 Alabama opens the 2026 season at home against East Carolina, with the Crimson Tide looking to start another playoff push after finishing 11-3 and reaching the SEC Championship Game last season. ECU is coming off a nine-win 2025 season and enters under head coach Blake Harrell, making this a difficult opening test for the Pirates.
Alabama’s biggest storyline is the debut of quarterback Keelon Russell. The former five-star enters his first season as the full-time starter after showing flashes last year, and he has plenty of talent around him. Alabama will also be looking for improvement from its rushing attack and a young defense that needs to establish itself early.
