Game Analysis:
After a grueling season in which young men dedicate every ounce of free time to make millions for colleges that charge the price of a testicle on the black market just for an application, we’ve finally reached the end of the college football season and the National Championship between the TCU Horned Frogs and the Georgia Bulldogs. The Frogs upset number two ranked Michigan on New Year’s Eve to send Portnoy into a emotional disaster zone and solidify their spot in the chip. Georgia survived Ohio State’s best efforts to upset them and walk into this matchup as double digit favorites against the lesser ranked Frogs. Georgia may deserve the number one ranking, but that line is a tad silly. This TCU team lost just one game to their fellow conference team Kansas State, which is the only skidmark on an otherwise really clean season. Georgia didn’t look incredible against Ohio State, but the Buckeyes came out way tougher than anyone anticipated. On top of that, Georgia showed that they’re never out of games, despite being down fourteen at halftime. This matchup is really going to come down to whether TCU can find a way to do it one more time or end like me when I enter into private browsing mode for a third time in a day and realize that I’ve just got nothing left to give. Georgia has so much more depth than the Frogs, and they also are on paper a massive underdog to the Bulldogs. But that’s been the story all season, and they’ve shown us time and time again that they will always find a way to make it a true battle. This game will be a lot closer than the spread indicates, but Georgia seems just too much of a mountain for TCU to get over after already having had to fight with everything they had in every game of this season.
