The Kansas Jayhawks are a football school? Well no not really but they have had a hell of a year, for KU football standards. They recently hit the 6 game win mark meaning they will be in a bowl game for the first time since 2008, and that is something to be proud of. Although they had higher hopes for the season after starting out 5-0, they struggled down the stretch dropping 5 out of their last 6. This is a huge game for Kansas St. because if they beat Kansas they get the chance to play TCU in the Big 12 championship game, and can become sole winners of the conference for the first time since 2003. This would also be the 14th year in a row beating KU.
Coming into this game you have to take Kansas St. -11.5. The Jayhawks have lost their last 3 road games to Texas Tech, Baylor, and Oklahoma by an average of 12 points and Kansas St. is much better than those teams. In addition Kansas St. has something to play for while this game doesn’t mean as much for Kansas.
