Oh, Boston fans this is gonna be a matchup for the ages. The one and two seeds duking it out for home-court advantage in the Championship series. Ok, yes, yes the Bucks do still have Giannis on their roster. And yes he’s still in contention for MVP and can only be stopped by a three-point line. But they’ve also been doing fun stuff as a team like letting the Indiana Pacers score 139 points against them. Which is pretty egregious by all standards. But yea when Giannis plays he averages 31.1 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game which is just ridiculous. The dude is like a freight train when he barrels down the lane and can only be stopped if the basketball gods are feeling benevolent and have the refs call a charge on him. But that is very rare. However, I don’t want to hear anything about Khris Middleton. The man has played maybe half of the games this season and has looked largely unimpressive in them. He’s averaging fewer points per game than Brook Lopez this season but is paid to average like 25 so oops. The Bucks have been able to win without him, but he definitely doesn’t scare me this season. And Jrue Holiday is just a pest, isn’t he? Just pass the ball away from him and boom you’ve broken down the Buck's defense.
Now let’s get to the fun part. This is why the Celtics are going to beat the Bucks this season: we’re a better team. And I don’t mean that as a homer, I mean that as a student of the beautiful game of basketball. Yes, the Bucks have a good little team I guess but I’ll tell you what they don’t have. They don’t have two elite, All-NBA, two-way guards. The Bucks don’t have the current, reigning, Defensive Player of the Year. The Bucks don’t have a person on the roster who is a part of the 50/40/90 club. They don’t have three guards on the roster that are all worthy of being starters on literally any NBA team. They don’t have a young Center who can quite literally jump out of the gym. Am I missing anything? Oh, yea, and the Bucks don't have Sam freaking Hauser. The superweapon of all superweapons. Don’t let my boy get hot.
