EAST RUTHERFORD — The Raiders enter at 3-4 after losing four straight, while the Jets are 2-5 following a 28-25 loss to Miami. Las Vegas started the season 3-0 before its slide, making this an important game for two AFC teams trying to get back into the playoff conversation.
Las Vegas will stick with Kirk Cousins at quarterback despite speculation that rookie Fernando Mendoza could make his first NFL start. Cousins has thrown for 1,877 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions, giving the Raiders one of the league’s more productive passing attacks.
The Jets counter with Geno Smith, who has thrown for 1,623 yards with 10 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Garrett Wilson leads New York with 444 receiving yards, while Braelon Allen has provided 418 rushing yards. Breece Hall’s availability is a major question because of a quadriceps injury.
