Game Analysis:
The Falcons are heading to Baltimore this week to take on the Ravens, who are preparing to play their third straight game without Lamar Jackson. Since he went down early in their week 13 game against the Broncos, the Ravens have clawed their way to two out of three wins, and they are keeping themselves firmly in playoff position. Despite the success they’ve been able to manage in the win column, their offensive production left with Lamar, and they might not be able to get it back without him. They face a Falcons team this week that has had good moments this year, but is wholly unimpressive as a unit. Despite the mediocrity Atlanta has put on the field this year, they are in a three-way tie for second in the division, just one game behind the Bucs. Atlanta is trying to show that they have something to work with in the period of transition the franchise currently finds themselves in.
This game will probably look more like a bar fight than a game between professional athletes. Both teams will probably be aggressive, a little sloppy, and it certainly won’t look pretty. That being said, they create an interesting matchup at this point in the season. The Ravens’ defense has been a fierce unit the past few weeks, allowing an average of 12 points a game, and taking a lot of the pressure off of Tyler Huntley and the offense. The Falcons on the other hand, play seemingly every game close and are one of the most unpredictable teams in the league. This should be a close game, but the Ravens are a better team all around, so expect them to leave with the win.
