The Eagles come back home after a tough loss to their division rival Cowboys to host the Saints in attempt to clinch the NFC’s first seed. Without their starting quarterback and potential league MVP Jalen Hurts, the team with the NFL’s best record still found a way to keep the game close and come within a play of winning. As it was clear to anyone who watched though, the Eagles are a different team with Gardner Minshew under center. For the Saints, this is their most important game of the year. A loss ends their playoff chances, improves the location of their draft pick which belongs to the Eagles already, and would be an overall embarrassment. Especially if this loss came at the hands of Gardner Minshew. The Saints will be giving the Eagles everything they have this game, and then some.
Despite the Eagles injuries, they will still be a lot for the Saints to handle. New Orleans will look to Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave for big plays as they have all year, and will try to stop whichever quarterback ends up starting for Philadelphia. The Eagles would love to clinch a bye and a top 10 pick this week, but we’re at the point in the season where teams sometimes find a way to win out of desperation, and the Eagles will have to hold this off in order to accomplish their goals this week.
