Now Indiana is currently the favorite for a reason, sadly unlike me with my parents. Their offense is top 66 in the league, but they haven’t had to rely on it these past few games. Recently their defense has stepped up, which is a major weakness for their opponents, Miami. Indiana has a top ten field goal percentage, shooting at a 48.9% clip. They’re also a top 40 three point shooting team, better at rebounding, and a more dynamic offense with better ball movement. Indiana was in control their entire opening round game, but Miami was struggling with a low seeded Drake squad. Indiana is 9 KenPom rankings better, which has been one of the best methods of predicting March Madness outcomes. Defense wins championships, and I really think Indiana will be able to significantly limit Miami’s offensive output. Miami has a pretty weak defense, so I think Indiana will slow down Miami enough for Indiana to prevent the upset.
