Doug Pederson has provided the Jags with the leadership they have so desperately needed after the Urban Meyer debacle last year. Knowing the names of his entire roster and not grinding on college girls would’ve been a notable improvement, but Pederson has shown this year that his Super Bowl run in Philadelphia was no fluke.
Despite all of the good things that can suddenly be said about the Jaguars roster, the Chiefs are still the big dogs in this matchup. Trevor Lawrence is a smart player but Patrick Mahomes is smarter. Lawrence has a good arm, but Mahomes has a better one. Trevor Lawrence has better hair, yet Patrick Mahomes gets the Head and Shoulders commercials. This quarterback matchup is basically just anything Trevor does Patrick does better. Throw in the fact that the Chiefs have a better supporting cast, more experience, and one of the ten best head coaches the league has ever seen, this game seems nearly impossible for the Jags to win.
