Game Analysis:
Oh my goodness. How lucky did the Celtics just get? After all this talk from analysts about how the Heat would give the Celtics a lot of trouble in the first round. And how Boston doesn’t want the smoke, the Heat can’t even win the game that allows them to play the C’s. Pathetic. But honestly, I am so happy that it’s the Hawks that the Celtics are playing in this series. Celtic’s in five, let’s ride.
The Hawks played a good game against the Heat. Wait let me rephrase that. The Hawks played a good game against a team that clearly didn’t want to be on the court with them the other night. No offense but when Bam and Jimmy shoot a combined 11 for 31, everyone in the league is beating them. Somehow big booty Kyle was the highest-scoring player on the team that the Hawks beat last night. But, credit where credit is due. Even though the Hawks are apparently shopping Trae Young, he still had a 25-point, 7 assist, and 8 rebound game to get into the playoffs. Which by most conventional standards is pretty good, (unless you’re comparing him to Jayson Tatum). I also would like to take this time to shout out 21 total rebounds from Clint Capela. Will he accomplish that against a real center like Timelord? Absolutely not. But, that is still pretty incredible.
The Celtics though are on a completely different wavelength. This is about as close as the NBA is going to get to a college against pro’s game. I want you to think about the fact that the Celtic’s current 4th-string Point Gaurd dropped a freaking triple-double in the last game of the season. Now I know it was against the backups, but the fact that the last PG off the bench for the C’s has the ability to do that in the NBA is insane. Not to mention the two All-NBA players on the roster, or the future sixth man of the year Malcolm Brogdon, or even our current DPOY Marcus Smart. This team is set to bulldoze through a loaded East. Do you think they’re scared of the Atlanta Hawks?
